The change in style is surprising, but not something he can't adapt to. When Yoshimitsu swings towards his other side, Genji rotates his blade to deflect it, stepping away from being right up in Yoshimitsu's space. Genji may not be a match in pure strength, but he's always been quite the nimble ninja, as it were.
Something he uses to his advantage, keeping some space between them as he circles around the other man.
Of course Genji can adapt. Yoshimitsu expects the other ninja to do so. If there's one thing about Genji that Yoshimitsu likes, it's the fact that Genji is one of the few who can really contend with him. Unlike all the other competitors who've entered this ring, Genji is a solid match against the alleged first mechanical ninja. This is why there's a hint of genuine excitement in Yoshimitsu's overall demeanor despite the harshness of his strikes.
When Genji pivots to deflect his blade, Yoshimitsu does well not to lose his footing. Genji might not be able to match his strength but he's certainly nimbler. Yoshimitsu's movements are a little less fluid in this particular stance but the ancient ninja is determined to win.
"Quit your prancing!" Yoshimitsu growls as he charges forth with a quick series of slashes that Genji either better avoid or parry.
He knows his dropping trick is not likely to work twice against Yoshimitsu, as the other ninja follows after him, intent on pressing his strength advantage. Instead, Genji chooses to dodge back and forth - until Yoshimitsu gets close in on the last swing. Instead, he takes a calculated risk - when the man swipes at him, he lets the blade get in close to his side, and then traps it against his artificial side and arm by slamming the blade between the two.
Genji gives a bright grin at Yoshimitsu, wakizashi in hand as he taps it against Yoshimitsu's chest. "Okay. No more dancing."
