[ the person coming near him, and hanzo growling, have genji's ears tilting a little before he smiles. he knows why hanzo is here, at least, and he scratches his ears. ]
The transformation must have made you hungry. Lets find something to eat. Will you bark if you see something you like?
[ he doesn't talk to hanzo like he would a puppy, as tempted as he is to. he talks to him as he would his brother normally. however, when he stands, he rests a hand on hanzo's back. ]
[Yes, he is quite hungry but he’s not sure what exactly, though the craving for raw meat is pretty constant with the blessing of Sanguis on him. Hanzo sniffs and trots onward, not minding being treated like a pet so much considering it’s Genji and no one else. If it was anyone else he might be more reluctant to play the part of a domesticated animal.
The scent of something caught his attention and he turns to trot in that general direction, nose to the ground as he tries to find the trail of whatever it was. Perhaps a wild animal or perhaps just some moonblessed bleeding out. He won’t know until he gets there. Hopefully Genji will keep up. When he loses the trail he sits and looks up at Genji, making a sad whining sound. It should be around there, but now they were in the middle of the woods with most of the commotion having disappeared into the distance.]
[ genji follows hanzo when he looks interested in something... although it takes them away from food, and towards the forest. there is indeed a trail of blood, but he can't tell if it's animal, prismal or moonblessed.
when hanzo makes a whining sound, genji frowns a bit. ]
Something was driven out here hurt. Considering there is no body, I am hoping it was an animal.
[ but he turns to look at hanzo, placing his hands on his hips. ]
You are not eating a wild animal, Hanzo. You're a man, not a dog.
[Whatever it was either disappeared or was eaten whole. Perhaps a snake-like creature? Hanzo circles around a couple of times then looks up into a tree to see if there's any sign his prey took to verticality as an escape.
Genji's words distract him, causing him to turn away from the tree to eye his brother. What his he talking about. He absolutely is eating a wild animal. Or a person. Either, really, he doesn't care in this state. He'll be damned if Genji tries to tell him no.
Buuut. If he has food on him he's open to that too. Hanzo sniffs at Genji's ankles up to his thigh then his stomach. He's not hiding any food or pockets in that thing, he thinks. Where would the food come from? His tail is wagging excitedly either way.]
[ genji folds his arms at the look his brother wolf gives him. he's not letting hanzo eat a wild animal - he's pretty sure he'll just puke it up as a human, and no one wants to deal with that. especially not genji, who will probably be dealing with it.
hanzo starts sniffing at his stomach and hips. does he think he has some food in here? genji holds out his hands. ]
The food is back in town, Hanzo. Let's go get some?
[Hanzo barks in protest to the no, but he's not going to argue it because there's nothing Genji can do to stop him if he comes across a rabbit or something.
Once he's confirmed that Genji isn't hiding food on him, he cocks his head to one side at the outstretched hands. He's not entirely sure what to make of it until his brother explains.
There's nothing wrong with that logic, obviously, but it would be so much more exciting to find a wild deer to take down or something. He just starts to nudge Genji's leg in the direction he wants him to go...which is further away from the town.]
[ it may have been a bark, but he knows that tone. when hanzo tries to nudge him in the direction away from town, genji takes one step reflexively, then stops. ]
No, Hanzo - come here.
[ and... guess what time it is. it's large wolf brother picking up time. ]
[Now Genji sounds like the one who should be the older brother. He whines in protest, then licks at Genji's fingers in apology, at least until he realizes what it means when his brother's stopped moving.
Unfortunately it's too late and by the time he has put the puzzle together Genji is already coming at him to pick him up. He fusses initially, trying to wriggle out of his brother's grasp until he realizes he's not getting away and just settles. When he's back to normal he has some words to say to Genji.]
[ genji, with some fighting, picks hanzo-the-wolf up and slings him across his shoulders. his back paws rest on one shoulder, while his front ones are slung over the other - and genji takes hold of those paws to keep him from wriggling off.
haha, older brother defeated. ]
Come now, we will find you something good to eat. Maybe whatever passes for yakitori here...?
[ he begins walking them both back towards the city. ]
[Hanzo whines for several minutes despite not trying to get away. At least he has the promise of food. And better yet, not just food, but yakitori. Meat was definitely a good idea. It helped take his mind off the fact that Genji didn't think he would be able to handle raw meat. If only he could understand how badly he was craving it.
Hanzo picks up his head when they get closer to the city. There are so many different scents coming together that he can't help but try figure them all out. Maybe he can smell someone familiar to take him hunting for real meat..]
[ genji takes them into the city, only putting hanzo down when he spots a food cart still valiantly selling treats to those that aren't as affected - or those that are, such as the man with several sticks of meat clutched in his hand and chowing down.
thankfully, there's not much of a line, so genji feels comfortable putting hanzo down. when people look at hanzo warily, genji waves a hand. ]
It is fine, he is my brother. He is just not having a good time.
[Hanzo only doesn't fuss because the scent of the meat is delightful and he's looking forward to it, tail wagging. The eyes on him don't worry him so much until Genji feels the need to explain the situation.
Obviously he's not wrong, but there were better ways to explain it! Hanzo stares up at his brother, wanting to bite at his hands to be a pest, but he's got his armor on and he'd rather not spoil his meal. So he walks a few steps away and lies down nearby while Genji has to be the one to bring the food over to him.
He doesn't mind not being able to speak as much as he thought he might. Things are a whole lot simpler this way.]
[ as long as hanzo isn't bothering anyone and no one is bothering him, genji is fine with him sitting down nearby. he makes the largest order he can, the man surprised but delighted, and in a short time they have hot, seasoned meat in a couple of paper boats, which he carries over to them.
he starts pulling sticks out of them, setting them in the paper boat in front of hanzo. ]
You cannot say I have never done anything for you. They could have been dog biscuits.
fin for now. i want to see how the aftermath goes.
[He's hungry enough that he whines about the fact that Genji is going through the trouble of taking the meat off the sticks to feed him when he feels fully capable of getting it himself without help.
The mention of dog biscuits makes him sniff in disgust before he starts to eat the meat, deciding it's good enough to finish, but doesn't quite scratch the itch for raw meat. He supposes it'll do this time. If the craving lingers after he's returned to normal he plans to at least find some sashimi if he can.]
