It's definitely a stimulant, but it does not sound like ecstasy or cocaine. More like PCP, from what I hear. It enhances your abilities to an incredible degree, but also your blessings. It makes you voracious for chroma as well, much, much worse than the dragons did.
A little goes a long way, and too much becomes painful before you apparently just stop caring and feeling. I'd hate to see the results of who found that out.
